Homeowners across Highwood call Big Toms Roofing because we do what we say — show up on time, explain what we find in plain language, and stand behind every Metal Roofing job with a written warranty.
We built Big Toms Roofing to fix a problem every homeowner in Highwood has run into: contractors who don't return calls, no-show for appointments, or pad the invoice once the tarp's already on the roof. Our Metal Roofing crews are local, licensed, and accountable — every estimate is in writing before a single shingle gets pulled.
From a single missing shingle to a full tear-off, our Highwood crews handle every stage of roofing work with the same attention to detail — licensed, permitted, and cleaned up when we leave.
When a tree limb punches through decking or shingles peel back in a wind event, water gets in fast. We prioritize emergency calls in Highwood above scheduled work, get a tarp on within hours, and document everything with photos for your insurance file.
Whether your roof is past its expected lifespan or storm damage made repair impractical, our replacement crews handle permitting, disposal, and installation start to finish, with a written timeline you can plan around.
Downtime costs money, so commercial Metal Roofing jobs get scheduled around your operating hours whenever possible, with clear communication to property managers and tenants throughout the project.
A lot of roof failures are preventable with a twice-a-year inspection catching lifted flashing or worn pipe boots before they turn into interior water damage. Our Highwood inspection service checks the field, flashing, penetrations, gutters, and attic ventilation, then hands you a written report with photos.
A roof is only as good as the parts that direct water off it. We repair and replace step flashing, valley flashing, chimney flashing, and gutters that have pulled away from the fascia — small jobs that prevent big leaks down the road.
Every one of these commitments exists because a Highwood homeowner asked for it, complained about a competitor's lack of it, or we learned it the hard way.
You'll know the exact scope and cost in writing before work starts, and that number doesn't move unless you approve a change.
Local dispatch means less time waiting and more time getting your roof actually fixed.
Our installers hold current manufacturer certifications, which means your warranty stays intact and the work meets code.
If something about the finished work doesn't sit right with you, call us back and we'll make it right — that's the deal.
We document damage the way adjusters expect to see it, which shortens the back-and-forth on storm claims.
We treat your yard and driveway like we'd want ours treated — swept, protected, and cleared before we leave each day.
We don't cherry-pick these — they're representative of the calls, texts, and reviews we get after most Metal Roofing jobs in Highwood.
"We had a leak show up during a storm at night and I honestly didn't expect anyone to answer the phone. Big Toms Roofing had a crew tarping our roof within a couple hours and came back two days later to do the real repair. Can't recommend them enough."
"The estimate they gave us matched the final invoice exactly, which after two other quotes from companies that kept adding line items, was a relief. Crew was professional and cleaned up better than I expected."
"After the hail storm last year, Big Toms Roofing documented everything for our claim and dealt directly with our adjuster. We barely had to do anything except sign off on the estimate."
"As a property manager I've worked with a lot of roofing companies and Big Toms Roofing is one of the few that actually communicates before showing up and after the job's done."
"Their inspection before we bought our house flagged ventilation and flashing problems that weren't obvious on a walkthrough. Glad we called them before closing, not after."
